Morskie Oko without horse carts? TPN informs about important changes

TPN is preparing to completely close the road to Morskie Oko. On selected days, tourists will not use buses and horse carts.
To the Morskie Oko only on the legs? The dream of thousands of fans of Tatra nature will finally come true, although only for a few days. From 28 to 30 May and on June 2-3 on the section from Palenica Białczańska to the place where the trail continues to the Świstówka Roztocka, the traffic will be partially closed. All because of the renovation, which is conducted in stages in accordance with the previously prepared schedule.
On foot to Morskie Oko
The second stage of renovation of the road surface to Morskie Oko is starting. After the works that were carried out on the route to the famous Tatra lake in mid -May, the time came for another, and this time a slightly longer section. “The works will take place on a section of about 2.5 km (from the Wanta forester’s lodge towards Palenica Białczańska)” – informs the Tatra National Park on its website. First, from Wednesday 28 to Friday, May 30, asphalt will be poured on the route. Then the trail will be closed for both horse vehicles and buses and tourists moving on their own.
Later, on June 2-3, pedestrians will return to the popular route, which, however, will still be inaccessible to horses and vehicles. “The road will be open to pedestrians and horse transport on Saturday and Sunday, May 31 and June 1. Then the work will not be carried out,” we read.
The schedule may change
All tourists going on mountain trips in the near future, in which a visit to Morskie Oko is planned, should monitor the latest information appearing on the TPN website. Employees of the Polish National Park point out that the work schedule may change, for example, depending on the weather conditions. “It is possible both earlier completion of these works and their extension,” it was reported in a statement. It has also been added that all official parking lots in the area will remain open to visitors for the entire renovation.
