More than 100 people searched for a Pole in Croatia. The tragic end of the operation

Unfortunately, the Pole who disappeared last week in Croatia is dead. After two days of searching, his body was found near the town of Omis.

The 35-year-old arrived in Croatia with a group of friends. He was last seen on July 11, when he and his friends went hiking on a mountain trail. The tourists from Poland were supposed to take the route from the Church of St. Anthony in Naklice to a popular viewpoint. They planned to attend the Ultra Europe festival in Split in the following days.

A 35-year-old Pole has gone missing in Croatia

At one point during the walk, 35-year-old Mateusz walked away from the group without a word. His friends were unable to find him later. Croatian services, alerted by the Poles, began a search operation, in which about 100 people participated. An infographic with a photo and data of the missing person was published online.

– The foreign tourist went missing on Thursday at around 10 a.m. – Branimir Jukić, head of the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service in Split, confirmed to the Dalmacija Danas portal. As he emphasized, rescuers from several cities, firefighters and police officers participated in the search and rescue operation. Drones and tracking dogs were also used.

After two days of extensive searches, it was reported that the body of the missing Pole had been found. Branimir Jukić confirmed that it was not possible to save the Polish tourist. The cause of death is not yet known. Unofficial reports in the Croatian media indicate that there is no indication of third party involvement.
