More good news about inflation in Poland. There is a message

The National Bank of Poland (NBP) presented core inflation data on Monday. This is an indicator showing prices excluding energy and food prices. Core inflation was 3% in October. year to year, compared to 3.2 percent in September.

after excluding administered prices (subject to state control) it was 2.3%, compared to 2.5%. a month earlier;

after excluding the most volatile prices, it was 3.4%, compared to 3.7%. a month earlier;

after excluding food and energy prices it was 3.0%, compared to 3.2%. a month earlier;

the so-called 15 percent trimmed mean, which eliminates the impact of 15 percent. basket of prices with the lowest and highest dynamics was 2.6%, compared to 2.9%. a month earlier.
Consumer inflation is getting closer to the NBP target
Let us recall that at the end of last week the Central Statistical Office (GUS) announced that consumer inflation amounted to 2.8% in October, compared to 2.9%. in September. These data are consistent with the preliminary estimate presented by the Central Statistical Office two weeks earlier.
From the detailed data provided by the office, we learn that in October – compared to the same period in 2024 – the prices increased the most in the categories of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products (an increase of 7%), as well as education (an increase of 6.2%). There were also significant increases in categories such as restaurants and hotels, as well as communications (by 5.5% and 5.4%, respectively). The decline in prices compared to October last year traditionally occurred in the categories of transport (by 2.3%), but also clothing and footwear, as well as home furnishings and household maintenance (by 1.1%).
