More expensive tickets in a Polish city. The new price list is valid from February 16

Lublin

A Polish city has introduced increases for using public transport. Ticket prices have increased by an average of 10 percent.

From Monday, February 16, the new price list for public transport in Lublin is in force. This means higher prices, especially for tourists and residents who do not benefit from the privileges of the Lublin City Card. On average, journeys around the capital of the Lublin Voivodeship will now cost 10%. more. For example, for a single normal ticket we will no longer pay PLN 4.60, but PLN 5. You will have to spend as much as PLN 20 more on a monthly pass.

Lublin raises ticket prices

PLN 5 – this is how much a single normal ticket for travel on city buses in Lublin costs from Monday. The price has therefore increased by 40 cents and significantly exceeds the costs of public transport incurred by Warsaw residents (in the capital, a single ticket, valid for 75 minutes, costs PLN 4.40 per journey).

Although 40 groszy does not seem to be a big change, the difference is much more visible in the case of season tickets. The price of a monthly pass for zones 1 and 2 for all zones has increased from PLN 188 to PLN 208 from February 16. “ZDiTM spokeswoman Monika Fisz said that the change in the tariff does not apply to holders of the Lublin City Card, who will still pay PLN 96 for a regular monthly ticket for all lines,” writes the Local Government Portal.

Unvalidated tickets can be exchanged

The Road and Municipal Transport Authority in Lublin provided good information to those who already have time tickets but have not had time to use them yet. Such people can exchange their current tickets for new, more expensive ones free of charge at ZDiTM sales points at ul. Nałęczowska 14 or and at the bus station at ul. Dworcowa 2 until May 15.

Additionally, with the entry into force of the new price list, passengers in Lublin were informed about changes in the timetable applicable during the upcoming third round of winter holidays. “A special schedule will apply on weekdays, which will take into account the reduced demand during the school break,” we read.
