More expensive in the Polish resort on the Baltic Sea. Tourists will feel the changes

This summer, tourists going to the Baltic will feel changes. In this popular city they will soon pay more for parking lots.
At the next session of the City Council in Sopot, the agenda will include a project of changes in the price list in the paid parking zone. Representatives of residents want to implement higher fees for remaining a car for visitors and tourists, and lower for those who are in Sopot permanently. Currently, for the first hour of the parking lot in the famous resort you have to pay PLN 5.20, and soon it may be PLN 6.90.
It will be more expensive in Sopot
A car trip to Sopot may soon be associated with higher expenses. All by raising prices for parking lots for tourists that the city council wants to introduce. According to the latest project, people coming from outside Sopot would pay much more for each hour of the parking lot than before. “The new project involves raising the rate for the first hour to PLN 6.90 (currently PLN 5.20)” – was transferred to the resort. The rate for the next hours will also be higher. The next 60 minutes will cost PLN 8.20 (currently PLN 6.20), and the third hour – PLN 9.80 (instead of PLN 7.40). Parking lots for the whole day will also increase – leaving the car at From 9:00 to 22:00 it will cost as much as PLN 93.90 (currently the price of such a ticket is PLN 70.80).
Relief for residents
While tourists will be burdened with higher prices, residents will feel real relief. This group will benefit the most on changes that will not be associated with larger expenses for them. During the day, they will be able to use the first hour of parking for only PLN 2, which means a relief of up to 71 percent. “Residents of the paid parking zone will pay less for subscription M. Currently, it costs PLN 115 for 30 days per one vehicle. After the changes it will be PLN 100 per month for each vehicle, without a limit of vehicles” – we read at sopot.pl.
Changes on the Baltic Sea
These are not the only changes that tourists may find in Sopot in the coming months. “We are waiting for statutory solutions that will allow you to collect parking fees in Sopot also on weekends. Meanwhile, as part of the applicable regulations, we are looking for solutions to improve the availability of parking spaces for residents, as well as for people with disabilities,” says Michał Banacki, vice president of Sopot. After the introduction of a similar solution, more resorts are trying on.
