“Our clients are diverse”

What is the issue of employing women at Amazon?

– As a company, we attach great importance to diversity in the company, including employing an appropriate percentage of women, especially those with higher technical studies. Why do we at Amazon attach so much importance to having diverse people in various job positions? Precisely because our clients are diverse. And the fact that we have people who create our products from the point of view of different perspectives means that they serve our customers best.

“The entry of women is absolutely welcome.”

Lucyna Chwastowska has over twenty years of experience in the IT industry. She has been with Amazon for four years. During the gala, we asked her about artificial intelligence, which she deals with, and the challenges women face in this area.

– Artificial intelligence has enormous potential to solve social and global problems. This is the perfect field for women to really learn these tools and use them to actually change the industry. It is completely natural for women to enter it. Moreover, I would say that it is absolutely desirable, because women have a huge role to play when it comes to taming artificial intelligence in terms of its responsibility and introducing ethical solutions, i.e. the so-called responsible AI.
