More and more attacks on Polish companies. Today, ordinary anti -virus is not enough

Cyberbezpieczeństwo to fundament współczesnej gospodarki

Expert: “Cyber security is an advantage, no obligation.” Companies that implement new solutions will gain protection and stability.

Over 65 percent Polish companies recorded incidents of security violations results from the February report “Cyber security barometer”, prepared for the seventh time by KPMG.

“In the constantly changing digital reality, they constitute an integral part of the internet space. The scale of cyber attacks is growing, requiring proactive actions to anticipate and minimize potential damage, “emphasize the authors of the report.

Meanwhile, new regulations in the field of cyber security raise doubts in some entrepreneurs. According to experts, their implementation is a must.

– Cyber security is the foundation of the contemporary economy, and in the face of the growing number of cyber attacks, regulations increase the level of protection of key entities and set standards for the entire market – notes Łukasz Strzelecki, Business Development Manager at SoftProm Poland Sp. z o. o.

Expert: “ordinary anti -virus is not enough”

As the expert explains, the new regulations extend the catalog of entities covered by the regulations, imposing the obligation to implement risk management systems, monitor threats and report incidents.

– strict penalties provided in the new regulations – up to 10 million euros or 2 percent global turnover – will make investments in cybersecurity a priority – says Łukasz Strzelecki and cites data from the “cyber security barometer” report.

– Research shows that as much as 66 percent Polish companies recorded incidents of security violations. Over 60 percent It does not have cybersecurity strategies, and many still think that the threats only apply to large corporations. Meanwhile, hackers are increasingly choosing smaller organizations as easier goals. Ordinary antivirus is no longer enough-phishing, ransomware and attacks on supply chains require modern XDR solutions available in the cloud model, on-pro and SaaS-explains Strzelecki.

Cyber security is a guarantee of market stability

– The new regulations mean the obligation to invest in technology and training. For large companies it is a natural step, but for smaller organizations it can be a financial challenge – notes Łukasz Strzelecki.

However, as the expert emphasizes, the lack of regulation would make the weakest links a gate to cyber criminals, threatening market stability and supply chains.

– The applicable standards are not only a set of requirements, but an impulse to change the approach to cyber security. The Polish economy must see a new reality in which the protection of data and IT systems is a priority. The future belongs to those companies that treat cyber security not as an obligation, but as a competitive advantage – says the expert.
