The Minister of Labor declared that she was ready for a discussion on equalizing the retirement age in Poland. However, she emphasized that there was no question of increasing it.
On Tuesday, the Minister of Family, Labor and Social Policy was a guest of the “One on One” program on TVN24. One of the topics of the conversation was the issue of equalizing the retirement age.
Recently, the proposal of the Minister of Funds and Regional Policy, Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz, has gained much publicity. In an interview for Wirtualna Polska, she suggested that women with children could retain the right to a pension at the age of 60, while women without children would receive the benefit on the same terms as men, i.e. after they turn 65.

– There will be no increase in the retirement age – emphasized Dziemianowicz-Bąk, emphasizing that this declaration applies to both sexes.
The head of the Ministry of Labor also announced that she is ready for a discussion on equalizing the retirement age for women and men, “but without increasing it”. – We can talk about how to level it down – said the minister.
Dziemianowicz-Bąk also noted that “there will be no counting of children” and “punishment of those who do not have children.”
The latest survey by SW Research for “Wprost” shows that as many as 56.3 percent Poles believe that childless women should not retire later than mothers. Pełczyńska-Nałęcz’s proposal is supported by one fourth of respondents (24.8%). Less than 19 percent respondents have no opinion on this matter.
Women are more critical of the idea (as many as 67.2% expressed their opposition, and only 17% supported it), but among men, the percentage of opponents outweighs the number of supporters (43.7% and 34%, respectively). However, respondents from cities with a population of 200,000 to 500,000 are most opposed to the proposal. inhabitants (69.6%).
