Minimum salary up! From March 1, these employees will earn more

From March 1, the salaries of young employees will increase. The increases result from the increase in average salary and will apply until the end of May.
From March 1, 2025, the salaries of young employees will increase. Changes are a consequence of the increase in the average salary in the national economy in the fourth quarter of 2024. New rates will apply until the end of May 2025.
Increases for juvenile employees
Young employees are determined by people aged 15 to 18 who have signed an employment contract to learn the profession. Their salary is calculated on the basis of the average national salary and varies depending on the year of study.
According to CSO data, in the last quarter of 2024 the average salary amounted to PLN 8,477.21, which means an increase of PLN 315.59 compared to the previous period. On this basis, from March 1, 2025, the salaries of young employees will be:
- First year of study (8 % of the average salary): PLN 678.18 (previously PLN 652.93),
- Second year of education (9 % of the average salary): PLN 762.95 (previously PLN 734.55),
- Third year of study (10 % of the average salary): PLN 847.21 (previously PLN 816.16).
People who train for the profession will receive at least PLN 593.40, which is 7 percent. average salary.
National minimum in 2025
From January 2025, the lowest national salary increased from PLN 4,300 gross to PLN 4,666 gross. The increase also covered the minimum hourly rate, which is now PLN 30.20.
In 2025, only one minimum wage increases, which means that its amount will remain unchanged throughout the year.
How much will the net salary be?
After deducting contributions and tax, the minimum wage “on hand” is PLN 3,483.51. According to estimates in Poland, about 3.1 million people receive remuneration at the lowest national level.
