Millions of Poles are waiting for this promise. The minister gave the deadline

The plan is that by the end of 2027, the tax -free amount will be increased to 60,000. PLN – said the Minister of Finance Andrzej Domański on Radio Three. However, the politician did not rule out that the changes would take place in 2026.
Increasing the tax -free amount from the existing 30,000 PLN up to 60 thousand PLN was one of the most important announcements of the Civic Coalition as part of “100 specifics for 100 days” announced before the last parliamentary elections.
It will be 1.5 years since the election, while this announcement has not yet been realized. Last year’s SW Research survey for “Wprost” shows that just raising a tax -free amount to 60,000. PLN was the unrealized promise of the Civic Coalition, which Poles regret the most (38 percent of indications, the next places included legal abortion up to the 12th week of pregnancy and changes in the so -called Belka tax – 22.7 percent and 21.6 percent respectively).
Minister of Finance on increasing the tax -free amount
The minister of finance Andrzej Domański talked about the possibility of implementing this postulate today. – We are working on it. The plan is that by the end of 2027 the tax -free amount will be increased to 60,000. zloty – said the head of the Ministry of Finance.
This would mean that the increase in tax -free amount will take place at the end of the current parliamentary term. Domański did not rule out, however, that the changes would take place next year.
– I would like it to be even earlier than in the election year. Perhaps in 2026 I will first present solutions to the Prime Minister, then we will discuss the date. I would like it to happen as soon as possible. First, however, the plan – precise and substantive – emphasized the Minister of Finance.
The calculations presented by the Ministry of Finance show that raising the tax -free amount to 60 thousand. PLN 55.9 billion would cost the state budget next year.
The current tax -free amount is 30 thousand. PLN and is the result of Polish order. People who earn this amount do not pay PIT at all. Earnings above 30 thousand PLN and to a level of 120 thousand PLN (tax threshold) are taxed at a rate of 12 percent. However, the surplus of income above the above -mentioned 120 thousand PLN is covered by 32 % tax.
