Farmers who plan to use the support program have been given additional time to implement the investment. The government decided to change the deadline for a program that allows you to obtain reimbursement for replacing roofing containing asbestos.
Subsidies for replacing asbestos roofs – new date
Initially, completion of the work was required by March 31, 2026. Failure to meet this deadline would mean the loss of funding and the need to cover the expenses from your own funds. However, the Ministry of Agriculture decided to postpone the date.
Under the new regulations, farmers now have until June 1, 2026. The change applies to persons who have signed contracts with Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture and they may not have been able to complete the investment in time.

The extension of the deadline is intended to help approximately 5.1 thousand people. farmers. The Ministry emphasizes that meeting the new date is crucial in order not to lose funds from the National Reconstruction Plan.
The program allows you to obtain even a full refund, but only if certain conditions are met. The support concerns the replacement of roofing in buildings used for agricultural production.

The amount of aid has not changed. The rate is PLN 40 per square meter of the replaced roof, with the maximum supported area being 500 square meters.
Individuals who are farmers who are subject to farmers’ social insurance and who received direct payments in the year preceding or in the year of submitting the application may apply for support.

Assistance is available to adults who are owners or co-owners of buildings. It is also necessary to have an identification number in the producer and farm registration system.
The ministry also announces the simplification of regulations regarding asbestos removal. Planned changes include, among others: rules for reporting the presence of this material and the possibility of permanently securing it.

Asbestos removal in Poland is part of a broader program that assumes completion of this process by the end of 2032. This material has been considered hazardous to health for years and its use has been banned.
There are still about 7 million tons of asbestos in the country. Support programs are intended to accelerate its elimination, and the funds allocated for this purpose in recent years have amounted to hundreds of millions of zlotys.
