Microsoft ogłasza plany inwestycyjne

Microsoft invests PLN 2.8 billion in Poland. It will expand the data centers, increase cyber security and train a million people in the field of AI.

Microsoft is planning another large investment in Poland. On Monday, Prime Minister Donald Tusk met with the vice president of Brad Smith, who announced that the American gigant would allocate PLN 2.8 billion for the development of cloud infrastructure, artificial intelligence and cyber security. This is the second agreement of this type of Polish government with a global technology group in recent days – a week earlier Google announced cooperation with Poland.

Microsoft is investing

The new Microsoft investment will include the expansion of existing data centers, as well as the implementation of more advanced services within the Azure platform. This is to enable faster introduction of AI solutions and cloud computing. Smith emphasized that this project is an expression of trust in Poland and its role in the global digital economy.

– This investment is proof of our huge friendship. Poland has always supported Microsoft and Microsoft will always support Poland. This investment is a signal of optimism – said Brad Smith at a press conference after meeting the head of the Polish government.

Prime Minister Tusk pointed out that Microsoft’s investment is not only the technological development of the country, but also support for Polish scientists, start-ups and enterprises. He pointed out that global technological concerns see the potential of Poland, which in 2024 achieved the highest economic growth in Europe.

– These plans show that Poland is today a place worth investing in these difficult, unstable times – said Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

Microsoft and the cybersecurity of Poland

The American giant also intends to get involved in increasing the country’s cyber security. Poland is one of the most attacked countries in Europe by cybercriminals supported by foreign governments. Microsoft’s cooperation with the Ministry of National Defense aims to develop new solutions in the field of protection against hacker attacks, especially in the context of the upcoming presidential elections.

This project will include the use of groundbreaking technologies, such as cloud processing, artificial intelligence and quantum technologies. Brad Smith emphasized that the company is ready to support Poland in building digital immunity and protecting key IT systems.

Training and development of competences in AI

Microsoft also announces an educational program, in which by the end of 2025 it will train a million Poles in modern technologies, including AI and cyber security. Teachers, IT specialists and managers who will use these technologies in their industries can count on support.

The company emphasizes that 430,000 people were trained in similar initiatives-in 2020-2023. In addition, Microsoft provides Polish educational institutions, non-profit museums and non-profit organizations with a value of over $ 80 million.
