Michał Probierz lost his nerves at the conference. Barge
On Friday (November 15), the Polish national football team will play a match against Portugal. The day before the meeting, Michał Probierz appeared at the press conference.
In addition to the Polish national team coach, midfielder Kacper Kozłowski was also available. Both men answered questions about both the pitch and off-pitch matters. The issues raised by one of the questions were clearly not to the taste of the White and Reds coach.
Michał Probierz sharply at a press conference in Portugal
The team is preparing for an away match against Cristiano Ronaldo and company in Portugal. There are currently no optimal training conditions in the country, so a step has been taken that could help achieve a positive result on Friday.
However, before the match for UEFA Nations League points, Probierz and Kozłowski answered a few questions from media representatives. Łukasz Ciona, a typical person – especially from the period of Czesław Michniewicz’s work in the national team – traditionally asked a few questions. Urbański replied with a smile, and coach Probierz?
The coach reacted firmly, referring to… Ciona’s reference to the words spoken by Zbigniew Boniek.
– I’ll answer straight away, is this your question or Mr. Boniek’s? Then you will ask your question – the Polish coach interrupted Ciona.
The author of the question asked, touching on another topic, what about the idea of a system with four defenders in the national team.
– As you have read, I have already answered in many interviews: no – replied Probierz.
Ciona once again attempted to ask Touchstone. At the very end of the conference, suggesting that he would have a short question.
– It’s hard for you, sir… – added Probierz ironically.
The question was about the number 1 goalkeeper in 2025. Once again, the Polish coach’s reaction was short and point-wise.
– Do you know who will defend in March? – asked the coach.
Receiving no response, in this exchange… the conference ended.
UEFA Nations League: The Polish national team has a chance of advancing
After four rounds, it is still not certain who will play next in the A League. The leaders of Group 1 are the Portuguese, who lost their first points only on Tuesday evening. Cristiano Ronaldo and company were stopped by the Scots, drawing with the leader goalless and thus gaining… their first point in this year’s competition.
Portugal has 10 points and the lead. In second place are the Croatians, who lost (1-2) to Portugal away, but were able to beat both the Scots (2-1) and the Poles (1-0) at home. Additionally, a very important draw from Croatia’s perspective was the draw at the PGE National Stadium (3:3), which allowed them to maintain distance over the Polish national team. However, Coach Probierz’s team still has a chance to be among the two best teams in the group, which will advance them to the play-off phase, to the quarter-finals.
The Poles have four points and two more games to play. These will take place during the November international break. First, away to Portugal (November 15), and then, at the end of the group games, at home to Scotland (November 18).
The third place in the group, where the Poles are, means they have to play a play-off with one of the teams from League B to stay among the best in the UEFA Nations League. Fourth position means direct relegation. However, it seems that Scotland should not leapfrog Poland, although the fact is that a lot can still happen in group 1.
