Michał Probierz assessed the defense of the Polish national team. “This Shouldn’t Happen”

The Polish national team finished the October training camp with one point added to the Nations League achievements. Our team lost as many as six goals. The defensive attitude was assessed by Michał Probierz.
First, a 1-3 loss to Portugal, and then a 3-3 draw with Croatia. There have been a lot of goals scored at PGE Narodowy in recent days. Unfortunately, as many as six of them were scored by the rivals of the Polish national team. While the white and red team were helpless against Portugal, they managed to come back from a 1-3 score against Croatia. This is a valuable point, although it seems that this rival could be defeated. The mistakes in the offensive formation in the first half may be puzzling. It’s rare for a team to concede three goals in seven minutes.
Touchstone assessed the national team
One of the weakest Poles on the pitch was Paweł Dawidowicz. He is blamed for two goals for the Croatians. In the first half, Dawidowicz was replaced by Kamil Piątkowski.
Michał Probierz, the coach, was asked about the goals scored by the rivals at the press conference. The coach did not want to point out specific culprits because, in his opinion, the entire defense formation overslept.
– I don’t blame anyone for the first goal. They cleared the ball and the opponent made a phenomenal shot. I will not criticize the players or judge them at the press conference. We made a mistake as a whole defense, leaving the entire zone and not attacking the player in the penalty area. We didn’t get to him to block the shot, admitted Probierz.
The coach believed in the revival of the national team
With the score at 1-3, it seemed that the match was over. The Poles looked dejected. It looked like there would be a third consecutive defeat in the Nations League. Fortunately, Nicola Zalewski gave the signal to make up for the losses. In the second half, the white and red team equalized.
– We started very well, created chances, scored a goal. The goal made it 1-1 was scored after a beautiful shot. Later we made two mistakes that should not have happened at this level, but from the bench we could feel that we were able to get back into the game – added Probierz.
The Poles have two matches left until the end of the Nations League group stage. On November 15, the Polish national team will play away against Portugal. Three days later, they will face Scotland at the PGE National Stadium.
