The Naval Academy announced the revolution on the Baltic Sea. She wants to erect a new Marina, which will be part of the Academic Maritime Training Center with a charming beach in the north of Gdynia. We will notice changes in Babich Doły. What does this mean for tourists and locals?

Metamorphosis on the Polish coast

Babie Doły is the northernmost district of Gdynia. It is known, among others From their ruins of the former Nazi torpedo plants, which are located a few hundred meters from the shoreline. It is at this point that the total revolution has to come. It is announced to create a paradise for sailors, both experienced and learners.

This will have its effect, because the fragment of this coast will change completely. When the work begins, we will see excavators, building materials and devices necessary to conduct renovation right at one of the beaches. You will definitely have to come to terms with temporary noise or difficulties. When everything is ready, not only sailors, but also ordinary sunbathers – are to have access to a gastronomic premises, which is to be built there as part of the investment.

A tender was announced for the construction of a marina

The construction of the new Marina has not yet begun, but the plans are serious. Already at the end of March a tender was announced for the implementation of the urban and architectural concept of this undertaking. This is another important investment of the Naval Academy recently. She recently opened a new modern dormitory at her university.

The current project, i.e. the construction of the marina, is guided by an important goal. “Our mission and need, in addition to maritime training, is children’s education. We want to encourage them to live at sea. In this way, colonies or trainings for them will also become a forge of staff. We hope that encouraged by such early education, then they will return to us to study to become navy officers.” – explained Marek Drygas, Chancellor of the Naval Academy in Gdynia.

The competition design is ultimately concerned about the creation of two buildings with a total, maximum building area, not exceeding 1653 sq m. It is about the marina building and the implementation of the brief and the marina for mooring small units. The main will include Hangar for water equipment, in the second sanitary knot with social and catering facilities. Companies can submit their competition proposals until July 14. The entire investment in Babich Doły is to be completed by the end of 2026.
