May weekend on the Baltic Sea. The prices of this popular attraction are shocking

Żegluga Gdaska

The water tram is a popular attraction on the Baltic Sea. The prices of cruises from Gdańsk to Hel may surprise tourists.

Żegluga Gdańska has published a new ticket price list for water tram services from Gdańsk and Gdynia to Hel. Unfortunately, there were also price increases this season. A popular tourist attraction on the Baltic Sea is not particularly friendly to tourists looking for savings. This is a big expense, especially for families with children who pay over PLN 500 for a one-day trip.

Shipping in Gdańsk – prices in 2026

On Saturday, April 25, the first water tram runs this year between Tricity and Hel started. A year ago, a one-way trip from Gdańsk to the Peninsula cost PLN 105. Today, you have to pay PLN 120 for such a pleasure. Fortunately, the rate for travel in both directions has not changed – two cruises in one day still cost PLN 170 per person. It is slightly cheaper on the route from Gdynia: here, depending on the variant, you will pay PLN 105 or PLN 160 per person (last year, tickets cost PLN 10 less, respectively).

Children and teenagers can count on discounts equivalent to several dozen zlotys. However, the cost for the whole family will still be very high – in the case of two parents and two children, such a trip will amount to as much as PLN 620. Only minors up to 4 years of age have free crossings.

The fastest and most beautiful way to travel

It cannot be denied that crossing the Bay of Gdańsk is not only one of the most picturesque, but also the fastest ways to reach Hel. Especially during the holiday season or during the May weekend, when traffic jams on the road leading to the Peninsula can be a problem for drivers. Traveling by train from Gdańsk also compares to cruises (although it is definitely a cheaper alternative).

Vaporetto cruises last approximately two hours. Tickets cannot be purchased online – they are sold only at ticket offices.
