The capital of Kurpie is the village of Kadzidło. Let the little -known name deter you. Under it, many attractions and picturesque areas are hidden. It is an art center and cultural center, it is also a tourist paradise for rest, especially after the top of the holiday season.

The village in the heart of Kurpie

Kadzidło is located in the province. Mazowieckie. This does not mean, however, that the inhabitants of Warsaw will have a stone’s throw there – the place from the capital is at least 140 km away. Still, it’s worth going there on the weekend. Much faster will come, among others Residents of Łomża or Mazury, e.g. Pisz.

The village is associated with Kurpie. It is a region located between Myszyniec, Ostrołęka, Nowogrod and Kolne, and in the fork of the rivers of Orzyc, Pisa, Bug and Narew. It also includes the areas of two forests: green and white. The village of Kadzidło is one of the most popular in this area. It is inhabited primarily by people representing the unique culture, art and traditions related to these areas. Tourists coming to the place are never bored, because there are plenty of attractions.

Attractions of the village of Kadzidło

When visiting the village of Kadzidło, it is worth looking primarily at the famous Kurpie farm. It is it who best shows local traditions. It is actually a museum full of exhibits related to the everyday life of Kurpie. You will see there, among others Traditional wooden construction, craft tools and old everyday objects. The place impresses not only inside, it is located in a picturesque green area conducive to walking.

Interestingly, special lectures and workshops for tourists are organized in the farm. You will see, for example, Kurpie costumes, try handwork and learn the history of the region. When planning a trip, it is worth checking when local festivals and events take place including the Kurpie festival and the Kadzidlan Fair.

In addition to the aforementioned place, another important attraction is the Nature Museum presenting a collection of exhibits related to the fauna and flora of the region. In addition, it is worth discovering tourist routes and local forests, as well as going to the Narew River, where it is possible to use water attractions.
