Marianna Schreiber defended freak fights. “If it weren’t for the fights, I wouldn’t have anything to live for”

Recently, Polish politicians have discovered how popular freak fights are in our country. It’s about celebrity fights in an MMA cage, preceded by aggressive conferences. Their outrage was mainly related to the fact that these events often attract young viewers and are not subject to much scrutiny.

Tusk and Kaczyński agree on freak fights

Prime Minister Donald Tusk recently talked about limiting access to freak fight galas and patostreams. – I will definitely do everything to ensure that children are not subjected to the pressure of such brutality and simple rudeness – he declared.

— I’m not a fan of freak fights, I don’t really call it a sport. But access to such fights should certainly not be unlimited, the Prime Minister also said. — It’s hard, people watch what they want. There will be no penalties, I will avoid censorship. But some kind of restriction that would limit children’s access to these types of images, I think, would be necessary, he added.

What is worth noting, Jarosław Kaczyński supported Donald Tusk on this matter. The PiS president described the frek fight gala as “pure pathology”. — If someone wants to fight in MMA, it’s their risk, their business. If someone wants to watch it, that’s even more their business. There is freedom. However, if it enters the sphere of pathology, some state intervention is needed, he said.

Marianna Schreiber defends celebrity fights

Marianna Schreiber, as a participant of these events, tried to present her perspective on Polsat News. She stated that pathological content is publicly available on the Internet and it is a much broader problem than just freak fights.

– It seems to me that this campaign against freak fighting comes from ignorance (…) I know that it is labeled as pathological. There are behaviors that I do not support either. I have a 9-year-old daughter myself and I think I have nothing to be ashamed of, said Schreiber.

The former partner of PiS minister Łukasz Schreiber assured that she would not take their daughter to the freak fight gala. – I am a parent responsible for the content my daughter watches – she said. – Nobody forces parents or children to watch such content. It is right that parents should supervise the content their children watch until they are of age, she admitted.

– A year ago, when I entered this world, I had exactly the same opinion as you and politicians. When I entered this environment, I realized that I was wrong, argued Schreiber. – This environment gives a chance to young people who observe, not the people shown in the material, but Internet creators who know how to behave. People are leaving the computer and doing something with their lives, she added.

– When I became a single mother overnight, if it weren’t for these freak fights, I wouldn’t have had anything to live for. They give such people development and opportunity. They give young people a chance to overcome pathology, emphasized Marianna Schreiber.
