The Maria reactor will resume work after a few months of forced technical break. The State Atomicist Agency has issued the National Nuclear Research Center permission to operate the reactor.

The Maria reactor ends the technical break. There is PAA consent
The President of the State Atomist Agency issued consent to the exploitation of the research reactor Maria. The permit is indefinite. Thanks to him, the National Center for Nuclear Research (NCBJ) can continue its research using the Maria reactor.
The confusion with the reactor has been going on for several months. In August 2024, the NCBJ submitted an application to PAA for permission to exploit Maria. The new consent procedure was prolonged due to the need to submit corrections and supplements. The previous PAA permit expired at the end of March 2025. Since then, the Maria reactor was closed.
After April 1, the media arrived by the NCBJ and the Ministry of Industry, the resumption of the reactor’s resumption of the Maria reactor. Initially, it was talked about May 9, then at the end of June. Former Minister Marzena Czarnecka gave another – end of July.

The only Polish nuclear reactor Maria is a research unit used, among others for the production of radiopharmaceuticals. It arises in medicine, molybdenop, iodine, lutet, phosphorus, samarus, cobalt or Holm. From the reactor, Maria goes to over 80 countries around the world.
