Marcin Różalski speaks harshly about the LGBT+ community. “These are mental illnesses”

Marcin “Różal” Różalski has been involved in combat sports for years. The kickboxer, heavyweight muay thay and MMA fighter, became famous for many fights and victories in the ring, but also for his appearance (face tattoos) and controversial statements. Now he appeared on Kuba Wojewódzki’s program and once again surprised with his strong opinions, sparking a discussion on the Internet.

On Tuesday evening, September 24, another episode of Kuba Wojewódzki’s talk show was broadcast on TVN. This time, the journalist’s guests were the author of the book “Utopia nad Wisłą”, Professor Antoni Dudek and Marcin “Różal” Różalski. It was the second conversation with a famous athlete that caused a lot of controversy.

At the very beginning, the host entered into a polemic with the former MMA fighter about gender identity. Różalski began by stating that he identified himself as a professor, which was an introduction to a further, more heated exchange of opinions. – I’d also prefer if you called me “professor.” Nowadays, in the fashion of identifying oneself as, for example, a hippopotamus, I identify myself as a professor. Professor Różalski. But what, “hate speech”? I’m not a professor? I identify as a professor, he said.

Kuba Wojewódzki quickly answered him: “I would be afraid to refuse, because you will hit me,” and then – trying to draw attention to the seriousness of the topic of multi-gender – he heard comparisons from Różalski that were supposed to question the sense of identifying a gender other than biological. The athlete directly stated that the LGBT community suffers from mental illnesses.

– I believe these are mental illnesses. Don’t talk about “LGBT people” – there are homosexuals, there are lesbians, right? There are transgender people who change their gender, but your gender is fixed. (…) You can’t change gender, you can’t change biology – said Marcin Różalski.

During the conversation, “Różal” expressed his belief that biological gender is permanent and unchangeable, while emphasizing his support for diversity and rejection of the homophobe label. – I love diversity. It’s great that there are such and such people, they have such religions, such preferences. But don’t let them try to interest me in this. Don’t tell me this is normal. There are two genders and the rest are disorders. I have nothing against people who have disorders. If they don’t indoctrinate me, he added.

His words caused a storm on social media, where supporters and opponents of the athlete’s position entered into a heated discussion. Moreover, it turned out that controversial topics and this choice of program guests attracted a large number of viewers. “I have always said that freedom of speech is good business… Thank you for yesterday’s RECORD viewing result. However, it is worth having a civilized (???) conversation,” Kuba Wojdwódzki wrote on Instagram on Wednesday, September 25.
