As is often the case in Poland, interest in Chwalińska increased rapidly. This is visible, for example, due to the enormous interest that took place in Warsaw, at the Chopin airport, right after the tennis player’s return to the country.

Moreover, LOT itself symbolically changed the name of its flight to… “Maja’s Flight” – so that we could follow how happily the finalist of Roland Garros 2026 returns to Poland.

There is no denying that the life of the Polish tennis player has changed in just a dozen or so days… practically forever.

What was the welcome like at the airport in Warsaw? Chwalińska went out to the fans, collected flowers, spent a few minutes in the place where a lot of people gathered and disappeared, setting off on her journey by car. The Pole still has a lot of different types of meetings ahead of her, even on Monday itself. It’s definitely going to be an intense time.

Maja Chwalińska wrote a beautiful story. Debutante final in Paris!

A story written by Maja Chwalińska from mid-May to the end of the first week of June on the tennis courts. Roland Garros is an extraordinary story. The Polish tennis player went through three-stage qualifications to officially make her debut in the main draw of the Grand Slam tournament in the French capital.

It turned out that Chwalińska followed suit. After defeating three rivals in the qualifications (two representatives of the hosts: Alice Rame and Carole Monnet, and the Dutch Suzan Lamens), the 24-year-old tennis player won… six consecutive matches in Paris! In the defeated field, the player who usually plays for the BKT Advantage Bielsko-Biała club left behind: the Chinese Qinwen Zheng, the Belgian Elise Martens, the Greek Maria Sakkari, the French Diane Parry and two tennis players from Russia – Anna Kalinska and Diana Sznajder. Mirra Andreeva turned out to be too strong in the final of Roland Garros 2026.

However, the result achieved by the Pole is a huge success. Chwalińska added as many as 1,303 points to her WTA ranking. This allowed the Pole to advance from 114th to 21st place in the world. Thus, she became the second best tennis player in the country, right after her friend Iga Świątek (number 3 in the ranking).
