Madness in the FC Barcelona match! Wojciech Szczęsny thrown into the “carousel”
Twenty minutes and four goals! The opening of the semi -final match of the King’s Cup between FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid could satisfy football fans.
The King’s Cup is the second in the hierarchy of LaLiga gameplay, so certainly both FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, would like to have a trophy in their display case for the season 2024/25. Distinguished clubs, however, met at the semi -final stage, and the first clash of the two -legged two is scheduled for Tuesday, late evening, February 25 in the capital of Catalonia.

It’s hard to believe, but after six minutes of the match it was … 2: 0 for visitors. Wojciech Szczęsny, on whom coach Hansi Flick regularly puts, he did not have much to say both at the hit of Julian Alvarez and Antoine Griezmann. The Argentinean and Frenchman were in perfect situations to enter the list of shooters. What they got after successful Atletico actions, plus the defensive mistakes of the hosts, carefully used. Barca fans could be shocked!
Szczęsny and his colleagues jumped on the “carousel”, but they were not going to give up. As it turned out, from the 2: 0 mentioned for Atletico after six minutes of the game, after another just over ten, there was a draw on the scoreboard. Barcelona replied with Pedri and Pau Cubarsi’s goals.
The Catalans strongly pressed the opponents and it was not much lacking that the speeding team of coach Flick even came to the lead 3: 2. He had his occasions, among others Ferran Torres, i.e. the one who replaced Robert Lewandowski in the initial composition. The Spaniard first, however, lost the duel alone to the goalkeeper (at 0: 2), and then managed to pass the goalkeeper, but his shot to the empty goal was “cleaned” by the opponent’s defensive (already at 2: 2).
However, the result changed until the break. In the 41st minute Barcelona gave a corner for the second time. This time, the cross from Raphinhi was very well used by Inigo Martinez. A great return and character of Barcelona players!
It is worth adding that the rematch meeting in Madrid will only take place on April 2. In the second semi -final of the King’s Cup this Wednesday (i.e. February 26), Real Sociedad will play with Real Madrid.
