Luxury does not scream, he whispers – an exclusive interior today

Modern luxury in interiors is silence, light, quality and mindfulness. Architects explain why prestige does not have to be lavish, and exclusivity today are materials, details and technology.

A decade ago, the luxury meant splendor and flash. Today he has gained a completely new meaning – it is subtle, discreet and balanced. We asked architects, which they think really defines the contemporary interior of the premium class. Their answers are consistent: luxury is space, materials, detail, as well as something that cannot be seen at first glance – technology and emotions.

Luxury feels under the fingers

– Luxury ceased to be showed, became more personal. It is in details, in the texture of wood or stone, in the design of an object that does not have to prove anything – says architect Agata Izdebska from the Interior Insolio. This approach is gaining popularity today. More and more customers are looking for interiors “tailor -made” – not only stylistically, but also emotionally and qualitatively. Exclusiveness is manifested to the touch of raw linen, brushed brass, walnut warmth or travertine weight. – I often say: luxury feels under your fingers. And really, the coldness of the stone, the softness of the fabric, the weight of precious metal speak more than any ornament – says the architect.

Izdebska recalls the words that – he says – deeply remembered: “Today luxury does not scream, he whispers.” And it’s hard to find a more accurate summary of what is happening today in the interior world.

Privacy and space – a new definition of prestige

– For me, real luxury is privacy and space. Silence, light, landscape – emphasizes Przemek Olczyk, architect and founder of Mobius Architekci. In his designs, the border between the interior and nature is often symbolic. The courtyard, sky, vegetation become part of everyday life, and architecture is part of the surroundings, sometimes harmoniously blending with it, and sometimes contrasting with it.

Olczyk also notes that modern luxury is not about excess. – This is the refinement of detail, quality of materials, proportions. The house is to be asylum – a place where you can calm down, focus on what is really important.

He adds that luxury architecture does not need illusion – its value lies in authenticity. Technology? Yes, but hidden – intelligent, quiet. True modernity is the one that serves man, does not overwhelm – it allows you to breathe full breast and be in harmony with the surrounding world.

Smart Home – invisible but necessary

According to Damian Fituch, managing director of Jung Polska, today there is no luxurious interior without technology. – Smart Home systems define a new standard of comfort. Automatic control of light, climate, sound, safety – he emphasizes.

As Fituch notes, in a world where time is the most valuable resource, intelligent houses offer something priceless – complete control over everyday life. – This can be called personalization at the molecular level. Systems learn the preferences of residents, they can create unique profiles for every person at home. The house can transform into a conference space, a presentation salon or a private cinema with one gesture. This type of automation is, also intellectual prestige – proof of a conscious choice of modernity, which is a signal for the environment that the owner not only keeps up with trends, but overtakes them. And this is the real modern exclusivity: on having what others do not yet understand – he adds.

Importantly, technology is becoming more and more invisible. – What counts is discreet elegance, quality and technology that works in the background – explains Magda Chodkowska, Chief Executive Officer, Tema, the official representative of GIRA in Poland. – Increasingly, investors choose natural materials, a subdued color palette, and luxury is expressed in comfort, safety and time saving. Intelligent systems respond to the needs of modern spaces – they are almost invisible, and at the same time extremely intuitive. Electrical equipment becomes an integral element of architecture – aesthetically consistent and precisely fitted functionally – says the expert.

Interiors “Quiet Luxury” – elegance without osteption

Changes in the approach to interior design are also noticed by Adam Budzyński, president of the board of the DECOROOM Interior Architecture Studio. – We have been operating on the real estate market since 2009, over the years the approach to premium interior design has changed a lot. In the past, luxury was more manifested. Today, an increasingly wider group of investors is expecting interiors in the style of “Quiet Luxury”, focusing on discreet elegance, high quality and craftsmanship. Therefore, custom -made buildings, handmade elements, and furniture and details that do not erase, but complement the space are increasingly appearing. As Budzyński says, luxury is also technology – hence the Deco | Smart by Automio service, enabling the design and installation of intelligent solutions. Beauty and functionality go hand in hand. It is also important that luxury is balanced today – more and more projects assume the use of local and renewable materials, as well as taking care of energy efficiency.

Luxury is the ability to restrain and give up excess

For Saan Architekci (Iga Sawicka and Aleksandra Niejsak), the real luxury begins with the location. – Preferably on the lake, near the forest, sea or river. Designing the context of the place means to become his silent participant, not the dominant element of the landscape – emphasize the architects. Their approach is based on the authenticity of materials and respect for nature. There is no room for excessive decorative in the interiors – honesty counts: wood, stone, steel. They change over time, ripen, get old beautifully.

Architects say directly: – True luxury is time, peace and attentive presence today. We create an enclaves of peace in a world full of stimuli. We don’t follow trends. We are looking for harmony, durability and meaning.

Their realizations are rooted in place – inspired by landscape, light, history. For them, luxury is also the ability to restrain and give up excess, which is also mentioned by Krzysztof Wirchomski, the founder of the Manufaktura Wirchomski brand: – We are increasingly giving up excess in favor of quality, durability and what is true. Luxury ceases to be noisy – it becomes personal and muted. In Manufaktura Wirchomski we have been confirming this philosophy for years. The parent value for us is the detail. We create interiors that do not have to shout to attract attention – they defend themselves with the proportion, the nobility of craftsmanship, and unique coloring. We combine elegance with the highest quality materials. Under the beauty of wood is the depth of precious ores, fabrics, glass and natural stones.

Exclusiveness of senses and precision

– Luxury engages the senses, causing pleasant feelings and impressions – explain Marta Iglewska and Radek Wójcik from Interiors. They add that it is about the quality of materials and details, which together create a space supporting everyday well -being. Contemporary luxury is also functionality – unobtrusive but thought out. Smart Home, natural materials and harmony of composition not only look beautiful, but also calm down.

They also emphasize the importance of the role of the architect: – He can realize his dreams by creating a space adapted to the lifestyle. Importantly, in luxurious interiors acoustics and smell play an increasingly important role – details that remain invisible, and yet affect the reception of the space in a subconscious way. Designers are increasingly working with natural aromas, sound absorbing textiles and lighting, which regulates the daily rhythm of the inhabitants.

Luxury, or beauty without a logo

Expert statements lead to a common conclusion: a real luxury does not pass. Interiors designed for quality, functionality, harmony and context have a chance not only to survive the test of time, but also to gain value – aesthetic, utility and emotional.

In a world full of stimuli and satiety, the most valuable is what is discreet, personal and well designed. Luxury is not style today – it’s an attitude. Conscious, focused, elegant in an unobvious way. It is the ability to see beauty where there is no logo.
