Lukas Podolski criticized his teammates. “Nobody’s in a hurry”

Górnik Zabrze is not doing well in the current PKO Ekstraklasa season. Lukas Podolski commented on the attitude of his teammates.

Lukas Podolski has seen a lot of things in his career. This season is supposed to be his last in professional football, and meanwhile Górnik Zabrze is disappointing. Currently, it is only twelfth in the PKO Ekstraklasa. This must be a big disappointment for the fans, because in the spring Górnik impressed with its play. There was even a moment when he was in the game for the Polish championship and the league podium. Now the team’s players are far from dreaming about the top three.

Podolski spoke eloquently about the team

In his own style, Podolski commented on what he didn’t like about the team. It is clear that the 2014 world champion really wants to improve his results, but this requires the involvement of all team members. This, however, is not visible.

– Quality, mentality, attitude. This is what our team lacks, this hunger to win the match. The ball is out of bounds, no one is in a hurry, there are no fouls, nothing is said to the referees. I always want to win, it may be difficult, a weaker match, but you have to fight, said Podolski in an interview with Dziennik Zachodni.

This is Podolski’s attitude

The 39-year-old openly admitted his attitude during matches. He would like every player to approach matches played for Górnik with this attitude.

– Everyone has to look at themselves, I won’t get into others. I have this attitude. Everyone should know how to prepare for a match, what to eat, how much sleep, whether to drink a beer or smoke a cigarette. Then you have to go out and win the match. There is no point in shouting in the locker room after a loss. I’m also impulsive on the pitch, not off it, he added.

In recent years, Podolski has been the leader of the Zabrze team. This season he played ten matches for Górnik and scored two goals. An opportunity to increase this achievement will come on Sunday, when Jan Urban’s players will play at their home stadium against Stal Mielec.
