All tourists were waiting for this destination. LOT Polish Airlines will take Poles to a fascinating island

From Poland to Iceland on board a comfortable scheduled plane? Already in April 2025, Poles will be able to fly from Warsaw to Reykjavik with the Boeing 737 of LOT Polish Airlines. The new direction of the national carrier announced today is something all travel fans have been waiting for. Connections are to be operated as many as four times a week. LOT is not slowing down – Iceland is the next destination confirmed this month, after the Greek Thessaloniki.

Flights to Iceland from Poland

Visiting the Island of Fire and Ice remains the dream of many tourists from Poland. Some of them managed to fulfill them thanks to the wide offer of low-cost airlines, which for years have been offering regular connections between, among others, Gdańsk, Katowice, Warsaw and the capital of Iceland. Reykjavik, the largest city of a huge island inhabited by less than 400,000 people, is the first stop on the way to see what is most beautiful in Iceland – waterfalls, black beaches, geysers and glaciers. A convenient time to visit this fascinating island is late spring, at the turn of May and June. The days are long and warm then, and the main season has not started yet. LOT has planned to launch a new connection from Poland to Iceland in the spring of next year.

LOT direct from Warsaw to Reykjavik

According to the website ryb-lotniczy.pl, the first flights from Chopin Airport to Reykjavik on board the national carrier will be launched on April 12, 2025. “Flights from the Warsaw airport will be operated four times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. On Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, return flights will take place on Okęcie,” we read. Poles must prepare for a rather late landing – the plane will arrive at the Reykjavik airport five minutes before midnight. Return flights were scheduled equally late, departing at 00:45 on Mondays and fifteen minutes later on other days. However, this is good news for those who dream of seeing the Northern Lights during a flight. However, it is worth remembering that the greatest chance to experience this phenomenon occurs from September to April. At the end of May, the sun doesn’t set on the island until 11:30 p.m.
