Lot aircraft fly a circular route. This is a reaction to the exercise
In connection with military maneuvers, the LOT LOT was modified by aircraft routes to the Baltic countries. Until Tuesday, they will fly a roundabout road, among others to Riga and Tallinn.
The political situation in Europe has once again influenced the plans of the airlines in recent weeks. This time PLL LOT adapted its routes to the ongoing military maneuvers. On September 12-16, planes from Warsaw to Riga and Tallinn and from Vilnius to London fly along a circular route, on the Baltic Sea. They bypass Suwałki.
Exercises The flight corrects the routes
“Flights will take place as planned, but there may be slight extensions of the travel time, without much influence on the implementation of the planned connection network,” said LOT spokesman Krzysztof Moczulski in an interview with passenger.com. The travel time was slightly extended: between Vilnius and London and Warsaw and Ryga by about 20 minutes, while the plane from Warsaw to Tallinn lands about 10 minutes later. The route between Warsaw and Vilnius has not changed. Planes will return to previous routes over Suwałki on Wednesday.
The Suwałki isthmus is the territory of Poland located around Suwałki, Augustów and Sejn. It is the only land connector of the Baltic States with the rest of the NATO alliance. At the same time, he separates the Kingdom region and Belarus.
Droved cruises after the drone raid
In connection with military maneuvers in Belarus on Thursday to Friday, the Polish border with Belarus was closed. The decision came into force exactly at midnight. It is estimated that 13,000 will take in the exercises. soldiers in Belarus and 30,000 in Russia.
Last week, due to the raid of Russian drones to Poland, the airlines were forced to redirect many connections to Warsaw to other cities, and four airports were temporarily closed. PLL LOT directed seven aircraft to the airports in Katowice, Gdańsk, Poznań and Wrocław. Even in the afternoon at Chopin Airport there were several hours of delays caused by this unforeseen situation.
