Long weekend and shopping. Which stores will be open during the picnic?

Majówka 2025. In which days shops and shopping malls will remain closed and when will they be open? Here is our calendar of weekend shopping.

One of the most anticipated moments of the year is ahead of us – Majówka 2025, which will last from Thursday, May 1, until Sunday, May 4. It’s the perfect time to rest, family meetings and grilling. However, it is worth planning shopping in advance – not every day we will do them without any obstacles. Which shops and shopping malls will be open and which closed during the long May weekend? Here is the shopping calendar for the May 2025

Shopping May 1 – where will we shop?

The first day of the May long weekend is a public day off from professional hardships and professional careers, as befits a real holiday of working people. On Thursday, May 1, 2025, trade restrictions apply. Supermarkets, shopping malls and most commercial outlets will be closed on this day. The exception are places that are not subject to the ban – will open, among others Gas stations, pharmacies, florists and gastronomic points such as cafes and ice cream parlors.

Shopping on May 2 – will shops and shopping malls open?

Although for many people Friday, May 2, 2025, will be part of a long weekend, according to the calendar it is not a public holiday. This is a business day, which means that all shops, supermarkets and shopping malls will function at standard hours. So there is no risk that we will not be able to do shopping.

Shopping on May 3 – where will we shop?

Saturday, May 3, 2025, is a constitution festival – public holiday. Therefore, trade restrictions apply, as in other state holidays. Large shops, supermarkets and shopping malls will be closed on this day. We will do shopping only at selected points, such as small housing stores run by owners, gas stations, pharmacies and gastronomic premises – e.g. bakeries, confectioneries and cafes.

Shopping on May 4 – will it be a commercial Sunday?

The long May weekend will end in non -commercial Sunday. On May 4, 2025, most shops, supermarkets and shopping malls will be closed in accordance with applicable regulations limiting trade on selected Sundays. This means that we will not make much shopping that day.
