Last week of CPN. Poles want the package to be extended?
CPN will only be valid for one more week. Half of Poles believe that the package should be continued.
On August 13, Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced the partial restoration of the Lower Fuel Prices (CPN) package. It provides for a reduction in the VAT rate on fuels from 23 to 8 percent, as well as the introduction of maximum prices for gasoline and diesel oil at gas stations.
The regulations introduce the obligation to apply the maximum retail price of liquid fuels at all stations in the country. Petrol and diesel fuel cannot be sold for more than the specified limit. The new price is valid from the day following its publication in the Official Journal “Monitor Polski”. In the case of non-working days, the price announced on the last working day before the weekend or holiday and other non-working days applies. It is applied until the next business day, including this day.
Poles want the CPN to be extended
The package is valid until August 31, which means that in a week there will be no lower prices at gas stations. Meanwhile, as the latest survey by SW Research for “Rzeczpospolita” shows, half of Poles (50%) believe that CPN should be continued. Every fourth of us (25.5%) does not want the package to be extended, and 24.5%. has no opinion on this matter.
The survey shows that the prolongation of the CPN is supported primarily by women and rural residents (52% and 55%, respectively).
It is worth recalling that in a SW Research survey for “Wprost” conducted just before the package was restored, as many as two thirds of Poles (66.2%) wanted CPN to be reactivated. Almost 14 percent were of the opposite opinion. respondents, and every fifth had no opinion on this matter (19.9%).
The SW Research survey was conducted on August 18-19, 2026 among users of the SW Panel online panel. The analysis covered a group of 800 Internet users over 18 years of age.
