“Last chance” attraction in the Polish mountains. It will be open for another two weeks

Tourists can enter this popular Tatra attraction only until the end of October. After that, visiting will not be possible for several months.
Tourists going to the Tatra Mountains should mark this date in their calendar. Only until October 31 is it possible to enter the Mroźna Cave, one of the most popular places in the Tatra National Park. After that, the attraction will be closed for the entire winter season. These changes are not surprising for true mountain lovers. Mroźna Cave closes before visitors every year because of the bats hibernating inside.
Mroźna Cave closed to visitors
The biggest attraction of the Tatra Mountains is closing and this time it is not about a detected danger or a planned renovation. The Mroźna Cave, located approximately two kilometers from the entrance to the Kościeliska Valley, is closed every year for the winter season to protect bats, which have chosen this place as a hiding place for frosty nights and days. “If you want to visit it this year – you have the last two weeks ahead of you,” we read in a post shared on the Tatra National Park profile. The last entry to the cave will be possible at 4:30 p.m. on October 31, 2024. The attraction opens at 9 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m. that day.
Cheap tickets for the whole family
The frosty cave is one of the cheaper attractions in the Tatra Mountains and Podhale. Adults pay only PLN 10 to enter, and children up to 7 years of age enter completely free of charge. It is not known whether the price list will remain the same next spring, when tourists will be able to enter again.
All guests must remember to dress appropriately. Regardless of the season, the temperature in the cave is constantly below 10 degrees Celsius. You can get really cold during a half-hour tour here. There is no artificial lighting installed, so you will need to bring flashlights or headlamps. “Remember that the light from your cell phone may not be sufficient. We also recommend having your own helmet,” we read.
