Lake, footbridge and green. This is a quiet place hidden on the outskirts of Warsaw

The Zegrzyńskie Lake is best known to Warsaw residents. Not everyone knows that closer, because in the capital itself you can find smaller, but also charming water reservoirs. This one is hidden in the forest.
The weekend is a great time to go for a walk to the forest and to the lake. Although the winter weather in Warsaw is missing, it also has its good sides, because with the rays of the sun such places are even easier. One of the exceptional and underestimated is the point hidden in the Wawer district, we are talking about Lake Torfy.
Lake Torfs Hit the District
Lake Torfy also sometimes referred to as duck, is located in the buffer zone of the Masovian Landscape Park. I am talking about an artificial tank, whose area is 6 ha. Some people encounter by accident, walking in the woods, others deliberately go there on bicycle trips or in search of silence. This is definitely not lacking there. It is an excellent stepping stone from a crowded city and an alternative to popular parks.
From the center of Warsaw we will reach our destination in just 30 minutes. The residents of the right side of the Vistula will have the closest, including Prague South. It is also a good point for a trip for the inhabitants of Otwock, Karczew and the surrounding area. We will get there by bus using line 161. Just get off at the bus stop Zbójna Góra and from there we will have less than a kilometer on foot. What will we find there? One of the most interesting green areas in the capital will appear to the eyes of tourists.
At Lake Torfy. This is what it looks like there
There is no shortage of photos of Lake Torfy in social media. The area looks different depending on the season. Currently, it will not be as green as in the summer, but we will be able to delight. Wetlands, trees and birds are just one of many local attractions. Visitors will also find a wooden footbridge and a tourist shelter in the area, under which you can hide in case of rain or stop for a small meal.
Bicycle fans will use special bicycle routes – blue – marked as difficult. The 22 km route runs from Anin through Aleksandrów to Falenica or Czarny – 27 km long, running from Międzylesie to Aleksandrów and back. Pedestrians can also count on paths for themselves.
When planning a weekend trip, it is worth having Lake Torfy on the list. This is one of the many charming places in Warsaw that deserves attention and appreciation. Did you know about its existence?
