Korwin-Piotrowska outraged by the YouTubers’ scandalous challenge. “Pathology”

There is no doubt that every year influencers are a growing group with more and more influence. However, their activities are of interest not only to adults, but also to teenagers and children who spend many hours a day online. Unfortunately, the content provided on various platforms by influencers is often inappropriate to the knowledge and emotional development of young people, encouraging them to engage in dangerous behavior or normalizing it. An example of this is one of Friz’s latest films, which outraged Karolina Korwin-Piotrowska.

Friz, i.e. Karol Wiśniewski, is one of the most popular influencers in Poland, as well as the richest, because his fortune in 2023 was estimated at PLN 151 million. The 28-year-old continues to post various videos online that will attract the attention of Internet users. He recently started a new series called “Challenger”, in which the guests have to perform various types of challenges. The last one moved the viewers.

The participants of this task had to immerse themselves in a pool filled with ice and cold water. Of course, the winner was the one who stood at this temperature the longest. Most of the daredevils quickly gave up the challenge, but some fought despite the pain they felt. After an hour, Wiśniewski couldn’t feel his legs, but Jay Dąbrowski was in the worst condition, shaking all the time and unable to move on his own. The intervention of rescuers was necessary.

This publication outraged Internet users, who highlighted the astonishing turn of Friz’s work, heading in a dangerous direction. Karolina Korwin-Piotrowska also published a sharp comment on Instagram. “They are supposedly idols. I understand that someone is intellectually disabled, that they have a morbid desire for likes, it happens, medicine knows of such cases, exhibitionists were once treated, today they are millionaires from YT, but should we involve others in it? – she started.

“Is anyone controlling this type of challenge? Can any pathologist do this and film it and make money from it? And can someone explain to me how it differs from pathology in freak fights? Did I miss something? (…) I sacrificed a part of my life to see it. And what I’m really asking is who is allowing this and controlling this? Because maybe instead of another day of nonsense about who has a diploma from which university, Polish politicians should think about what people do for money and reach on the Internet,” thundered Karolina Korwin-Piotrowska.

Internet users flocked to agree with her. The comments under the journalist’s post read: “I have never seen any video of this type. I don’t watch, I don’t click, they won’t make money from me. And if someone puts someone else’s life at risk, they should be charged. Maybe that would stop the madness”, “Millions are watching him, the guy has a partner and a child and he does something like this. These people will do anything for coverage and money. I saw this video, it’s terrifying”, “You have to earn money to fly a helicopter, to go shopping. It’s a pity that at the same time risking people’s lives and health”, “I feel sorry for rescuers that they have to go to such things”, “The bigger an idiot you make of yourself, the more likes… Sick times” or “What are today’s authorities like for children and youth, it’s over.”
