A Civic Coalition politician caused a scandal during a match at the PGE National Stadium. Security had to intervene.
On August 14, the European Super Cup match was played in Warsaw. The rivalry between Real Madrid and the Italian Atalanta Bergamo was watched live at the PGE National Stadium by over 56,000 fans. Mateusz Tyczyński was among them. The Civic Coalition politician went to the match with his friends.
Mateusz Tyczyński kicked out of PGE Narodowy. This is how he explains it
According to WP’s findings, during the football matches on the pitch, an incident occurred in the stands. Mateusz Tyczyński was allegedly approached by four uniformed security guards from the so-called intervention group. One of the fans sitting nearby recorded how the KO politician and his friends were led out of the stands. According to unofficial reports, they were allegedly causing a row and harassing other fans.
Mateusz Tyczyński admitted that such events did indeed take place. He also confirmed that the fans sitting in the adjacent rows actually applauded the security guards who were leading him out. However, the politician believes that the intervention taken against him was too harsh. “The stewards asked two spectators sitting next to me to leave their seats, who had engaged in a – perhaps too dynamic – exchange of words with other spectators. After a few minutes, security staff appeared and asked the other people who had purchased tickets through one UEFA account, including me, to leave their seats,” he said.
The activist assured that he did not break the law and was not under the influence of alcohol.. He said he had only had one beer because he didn’t have time to drink more. “If there were any suspicions, I would have certainly been breathalyzed, but that didn’t happen. From my point of view, the situation is incomprehensible, I have nothing to reproach myself for,” he said.
