Knockout in PlusLiga’s hit. Zaksa Kędzierzyn-Koźle’s nightmares returned

Even before the meeting began, very bad news from the hosts’ camp, i.e. ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle, came. During the morning training, on the day of the match, the team captain, a real leader, Bartosz Kurek suffered an injury. The attacker was to feel pain in his back, which in consequence excluded him from participating in the evening hit.

It is true that Kędzierzyn had the opportunity to process the game scenario without a tap in the composition this season, but they were certainly completely different circumstances. It is worth recalling that “Kuraś” was excluded from playing in … the inaugural queue. During the away match with PGE Projekt Warszawa, Kurek suffered an unfortunate injury, getting the ball in the eye. As it turned out, the injury was so serious that the volleyball player lost not only a few weeks, and a few months – when Mateusz Rećko replaced him.

The second attacker Zaksa, who includes the debut season in the ranks of PlusLiga, was doing quite bravely. Certainly the same would like to hear or read after Tuesday’s quarter-finals of the playoffs. Rećko just came back … after health problems, so it was rather difficult to demand that he entered 1 to 1 in the boots. Especially since the captain of Zaksa and the Polish national team, 2025 has a great year. Kurek gathered the most MVP statuettes from all volleyballers in PlusLiga, he was also the best during the first meeting in Lublin, where ZAKSa beat Bogdanka Luk 3: 1.

However, the guests took a severe rematch. Actually, from the very beginning one could get the impression that the hosts did not quite believe in the possibility of playing a speeding opponent. As if there was little injury, apart from the tap, Jakub Szymański was absent on the side of Zaksa, and in addition … during the match the injury suffered the middle visitors. One of the best in his position in the cross -section of all PlusLiga, Aleks Groupow, in the second batch he twisted an ankle. At least this was what it looked like from the pitch, Bulgarian was lifted by his friends from the dance floor, and was replaced by the middle Jan Nowakowski. From the state of 16: 9 and the moment of the ZAKSA injury approached 17:13 to the opponents. But it was actually one of the two more serious uprisings of the hosts. The second took place in the last party that day, when Zaksa approached the loss point (18:19).

Bogdanka’s winner 3: 0, fully deserved, puts the Lublin team in a privileged situation. The team of coach Massimo Botti will return to the decisive, match number 3 of the quarter -final competition. Currently, the condition is 1: 1, and at this stage you play up to two matches. When is the decisive match? This Sunday, i.e. on April 6. Beginning at 14:45.

However, before starting the match, you will probably need to listen to the news about the health of Kurek. If Captain ZAKSA was missing in the quarter -final, decisive battle, the scenario of the Sunday match may be similar to the one which fans were on Tuesday evening. The lack of a tap at such a key moment showed how important he is the player in the team from Kędzierzyn-Koźle. The nightmares of healthy health problems also returned to Zaksa. So badly mentioned from the past campaign and problems of Aleksander Śliwka or Łukasz Kaczmarek.

MVP of the match was chosen Wilfredo Leon, author of 21 points for guests. On the other side, Rećko did the best, who added 18 points.
