Katowice hosted the premiere conference on the defense industry
October 15 this year. At the International Congress Center in Katowice, the first edition of the “Industry for Defense” conference will take place – a new event in the calendar of Polish business and security policy. The meeting devoted entirely to the defensive sector will inaugurate the debate about building state immunity, modernization of the armed forces and the role of national industry in the face of a dynamically changing geopolitical situation. The conference is organized as part of the series “The Industry of Tomorrow. Tomorrow’s industry”, which will gather representatives of industry, science and administration from all over Europe in Katowice.
The conference agenda includes the most important issues related to the development of production for defense and state security. Discussions will be devoted to building and maintaining the resistance of the country, strengthening the defense potential and developing modern technological and industrial skills that will react to growing geopolitical challenges.
The center of attention will also include the role of the state and the economy in ensuring national security, the preparation of critical infrastructure for crisis and the importance of cooperation with the scientific and research sector in creating innovative solutions for the army and defense.
– We see that the defense industry is becoming one of the key pillars of state security and sovereignty today. Poland, like other countries of the region, faces the need to increase production capacity and invest in new technologies. The “Industry for Defense Industry” conference is primarily to be a platform for talks and exchange of experiences between industry leaders, experts and decision -makers who jointly consider how to transform the potential of domestic companies into real economic and military strength – says Wojciech KuśpikPresident of the Board of the PTWP Group, conference organizer. – It is also a space for building lasting cooperation between business, state and science, because only joint activities can bring long -term results for the security of Poland – he adds.
The conference will be attended by managers of private and state defense sector entities, entrepreneurs developing the production of double applications and representatives of the world of science and technology. Debates with their participation will be an opportunity to discuss the priorities of the modernization of the armed forces and the state of the state’s purchasing policy, as well as to indicate the directions of cooperation of administration with weapons and equipment producers. Participants will seek answers to questions how Polish industry should respond to new challenges, how the national production potential can become an impulse for the economy and export, and how the state – as a key ordering party – should shape its relationship with suppliers.
– When preparing the “Industry for Defense” agenda, we wanted to capture the key challenges that the Polish and European defense industry faces today. On the one hand, it is a need to ensure the security and resistance of the state in the face of a dynamic geopolitical situation, on the other – you need to invest in modern technologies and include industry in wider economic processes. I believe that this conference will allow to combine the knowledge and experience of various environments, creating an impulse for real actions to strengthen Poland’s defense potential – emphasizes Aleksandra Helbineditor -in -chief of the WNP.pl portal.
The industry for defense is planned as an independent part of a series of events taking place under the slogan “The Industry of Tomorrow. Industry of tomorrow”.
