Karolina Pilarczyk: She was supposed to get a Nobel Prize from computer science, but she fell in love with a slide. Mistress.

She was born in an intellectual family – mother theater actress, dad – an outstanding IT specialist. Therefore, childhood was full of unobvious impressions, communing with higher culture and traveling around the world. It turned out that she had a strict mind, so the development path led her not to the stage but after IT education. As she admits in interviews, she was a child of every parents’ dreams.

“Kfor I started to do a doctorate, my dad was very proud of me, he repeated that I would definitely get a Nobel Prize in the field of computer science. At the same time, I was offered a job in the largest and at that time to the most prestigious IT company in the world, so my mother expected that as a “manager” I would have this proverbial house in a prestigious district, two children, a dog, a perfect husband, a well -kept garden and an arranged life … And all this broke my perfectionism “ (laugh – note) – says Karolina Pilarczyk.

Due to frequent business trips around Poland and because of their profession, staying in the environment of men, they did not want to be treated by them, a reduced – strong feminist awareness of her value has always been in it. That none of the colleagues would accuse her of her lack of skill during the car traveling together, decided to train their driving skills by car.

And then there was something that turned out to be a tragedy for her parents, and for her a discovery of something that really makes her happy. The later Polish champion and the double European champion of women in Drift, just when she fell in love with slipping.

This discovery completely absorbed her. There has not been such a discipline as drifting in Poland yet, but it instinctively began to look for contacts among Moto Maniak. She began to participate in amateur rallies and races. At the same time, she continued her professional career in a corporation.

The first lesson she got is that her new passion is very expensive fun. Rally gave a sense of satisfaction, but did not give the euphoria that she felt on the slipboard. She did not give up, looked, tried – she knew that what she dreams about, at that moment it was impossible, but at the same time it was not unreal.

Famous butterflies appeared in the stomach and she already knew that she had a dream or rather a goal that she would achieve even if I don’t know what!

Blood, sweat and tears …

She bought the first car for Drift in 2004 on credit, did the most important modifications to drift, began training and … began to look for sponsors. The defeat for defeat made her realize that nobody would trust the girl in Motorsport, without experience, motor tradition, who does not know the cars but she really wants …

In addition, disappointed in the turn of the case, parents did not motivate, and even put mental barriers in her head: you can’t, you can’t do it, you are a woman, and this is a sport for men, you can’t afford it, you waste your talent, time and money.

She cried into the pillow more than once, but only to throw out bad emotions and make a space in your head for another plan how to realize your dream. She knocked on many doors, from which she reflected, but finally something twitched.

In 2008, she managed to get a larger budget for the first time. She built her first drifting car and was more and more seriously thinking that Motorsport became not only her passion but also a profession.

Cups are not everything

The first championship came in 2016 (European champion in women’s class), then another in Europe and Poland. She took part in the competition on almost all continents of the world. She laughs that only South America, Australia and Antarctica remained).

As the first Polish woman she gained a professional drifting license and prestigious motor licenses: Formula Drift, Drift Kings, King of Asia, PZM Drift, Racing B, C. As the only European, it has started in the full cycle of the most prestigious drifting competitions in the world – the American Formula Drift.

Medals and cups are occupied by 3/4 of her small Łomiankowski apartment. He jokes that he must change the apartment to a larger one, because there is no place, to insert more. But it is not the cups that are a determinant of success for her, but the audience. Giving people positive impressions, showing the beauty of professional draring, telling how to realize their dreams, it became her life mission.

Karolina is for people. Since she began to deal with Motorsport with her career development, popularity has come. She did not refuse to a photo, autograph or even a moment of conversation. During the competition, its zone in the machine park is always besieged by crowds of fans. No one ever goes away with the proverbial “receipt”. She gathered hundreds of thousands of fans on her social media profiles, who also devotes his time. Although it is hard to believe, Karolina indeed personally responds to messages and comments under her posts. It is true that due to the size of his moto-business activity, it has a circle of colleagues, but there are areas reserved for her personally and such and such contact with fans belong.

“Mrs. Karolino, you changed my life. After talking to you at Summer Cars Party in Katowice, I also dared to follow my dreams. Office work did not give me satisfaction, I wanted to design clothes. The lady gave me courage and determination. I exchanged the office into a tailor’s studio and started doing what I love. I send a dress designed and sewn in my studio. She has a dress in the closet to this day. After every competition, fair and automotive events, her message in the social media is filled with thanks for support and motivation.
