The echoes of Iga Świątek’s success in the WTA 1000 tournament in Toronto continue to echo. President Karol Nawrocki congratulated the Pole for her great success in Canada.
Let us remind you that Iga Świątek has just won her first tournament in the 2026 season. Interestingly, this is title number 26 in the career of the Pole, who is only 25 years old. In the final in Toronto, Świątek was clearly better than Jelena Rybakina.

As is often the case with great successes in Polish sport, there is no shortage of political reactions. President Karol Nawrocki posted an entry on Friday (August 14) morning in which he heartily congratulated Świątek on her success, appreciating her contribution to national joy for Polish women and men.
“Big congratulations to Iga Świątek! A great victory and triumph on Canadian courts! Thank you for the sports emotions and pride that Iga gives to Poland and Poles. Bravo!” – we read on President Nawrocki’s profile on the X website.
Thanks to the win over Rybakina, Świątek jumped to 5th place in the WTA ranking. However, there are further challenges for the best Polish tennis player on the horizon. This is the largest, the last of the Grand Slam tournaments – the US Open – played in New York.
Iga Świątek and all her championship titles
In her career so far, the Pole has won a total of 26 championship titles on courts almost all over the world.
Świątek won six Grand Slam titles, four times at Roland Garros (2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024), once at the US Open (2022) and Wimbledon (2025). To this should be added the prestigious triumph in the WTA Finals (2023).
In addition, wins in WTA 1000 tournaments in: Rome (2021, 2022, 2024), Doha (2022 and 2024), Indian Wells (2022 and 2024), Miami (2022), Beijing (2023), Madrid (2024), Cincinnati (2025) and the most recent one – in Toronto (2026).
The list also includes WTA 500 competitions: Adelaide (2021), Stuttgart (2022 and 2023), San Diego (2022), Doha (2023) and Seoul (2025).
Plus a Polish tournament accent, WTA 250 in Warsaw (2023).
As for Polish topics, it is impossible not to emphasize the bronze medal of the Olympic Games in the singles competition in Paris (2024). Świątek also won the Polish national team in the United Cup in Sydney (2026).
