Karol Nawrocki about the SAFE program
During the annual settlement and task briefing of the commanders of the Polish Army, which took place at the Warsaw Citadel, Karol Nawrocki spoke about the SAFE program. – Yes, the Polish army needs as much money as the SAFE loan. However, the sovereignty aspect raises doubts, which is particularly important to me as the President of Poland, to what extent the SAFE program gives us the ability to spend money freely in the context of the principle of conditionality – said the politician.
– What is needed here is a cool assessment, calm, and honest debate, not the political tumult, of which Poland has unfortunately become a part today. This is a huge debt that will be repaid by the Polish state for decades. Therefore, Poles have the right to know what the real cost of the commitment will be and on what conditions it will be granted, the president added.
Karol Nawrocki emphasized that “we must be sure that these funds will not be withheld or suspended.” – Certainty is security, uncertainty is danger. We all remember that in the case of KPO, this principle caused major conflicts and tensions between the EU and Poland, and the same principle applies to SAFE, he explained.
