Sunday’s PlusLiga match Asseco Resovia Rzeszow – PSG Stal Nysa has been canceled. However, the home team captain has spoken out about the controversial match.

Although the PlusLiga match was postponed, the volleyball community was in a frenzy on the night from Saturday to Sunday. According to the guests from Nysa, Asseco Resovia was initially reluctant to make the decision to cancel the match. Despite the obvious arguments regarding the fight against the elements in the Opole province, and in Nysa itself.

PlusLiga: Karol Kłos on the allegations regarding the attitude of Asseco Resovia Rzeszów

The decision to postpone the match until October 30 was made after a huge storm, including on social media. The vast majority criticized the approach of the club from Rzeszów, firmly siding with the obvious need for the team from Nysa to return home.

The matter was rectified, but… the bad taste remained. Karol Kłos, a middle blocker from Asseco Resovia, spoke about the whole mess that lasted several hours. The well-known volleyball player wrote a few sentences on social media, referring to the matter on Sunday.

“A huge storm has broken out that no one needs. I feel called to respond. Together with the guys from Asseco Resovia Rzeszów, we couldn’t imagine playing a match today against PSG Stal Nysa. It’s very good that it won’t take place. The most important thing is the safety of the families of the guys from Nysa. Instead of responding to all the accusations in SM, to stir things up even more, I preferred to make a few phone calls in the evening and take action. It’s very easy to judge, cross out or ruin someone when you don’t know everything. It’s even easier when you don’t like the person, club or organization. I wish everyone peace and health in the threatened areas, because that’s what’s most important today,” wrote the captain of Asseco Resovia and former Polish national team player.

And the aforementioned bad taste? This is a voice from the team from Nysa, specifically the training staff. Piotr Łuka, who not only played and works at Stal, but was also a player at Asseco Resovia for many years.

We leave the interpretation of the whole situation to the readers’ judgment. However, it seems that in the end the most important thing is that the match was canceled. There are much more important things than sports competition right now.
