A ski jumping competition in Wisła-Malinka is planned for the weekend (December 6-9). Kamil Stoch made a memorable jump on this hill in 2015.

Wisła-Malinka is the first opportunity for Polish fans to see the best World Cup jumpers in their country in the 2024/25 season. The competition promises to be interesting, we can only hope that it will have strong Polish accents. The Polish national team is going through a significant crisis, the jumpers are far from achieving any regularity in high positions in individual competitions.

Kamil Stoch recalled the memorable jump from 2015

In such a situation, and with the jumps in Wisła-Malinka in perspective, it is worth reminiscing. Especially since Kamil Stoch had the opportunity to achieve a record jump in the qualifying session in 2015.

He did, but in the end he didn’t stop jumping and the landing itself was very dangerous. How does the three-time Olympic champion remember that attempt?

– This jump is also really in my memory. It was a very long jump, probably 139.5 meters. I landed practically on my back, but I remember that there was a very strong wind under my skis, and I had a good jump. It was a pleasant flight, but landing was a huge problem because I fell from a very high place – admitted Stoch during a conference before the weekend of jumping in Wisła.

Interestingly, on Friday morning there were disturbing signals regarding the conditions in this picturesque place in the Silesian Voivodeship. The information was provided by Kacper Merk, a Eurosport journalist.

“It’s been very windy in Wisła since the morning, and it must be honestly admitted that the qualifications are at great risk today,” X said on the platform.
