Kamil Majchrzak is the only Polish single in this year’s Wimbledon. The Pole defends honor among men after withdrawal, due to injury, from the ladder of the main tournament in London Hubert Hurkacz.

And it must be admitted that Majchrzak is doing very well. He just achieved life success, entering the third round of the Great Slam.

Wimbledon: Kamil Majchrzak with promotion! Life success of a Pole in London

It is worth recalling that on Monday (i.e. June 30), the first day of the main competition on the grass in London, Majchrzak made a big surprise, playing the former finalist of the event. Matteo Berrettini lost to the Pole after a five -hundred battle, which Majchrzak withstanded much better.

One was wondering how a Pole would approach the opening, great chance in his second match at Wimbledon. In this part of the ladder there were several surprises, including the largest, i.e. eliminating the number 3 – German Sasha Zwieriew. The opponent of Majchrzak was Ethan Quinn (89. ATP). A dangerous American, with his arguments, but also a player who is not at the forefront of US tennis players at the moment.

As it turned out, these realities translated into the events of the second round match. Majchrzak, much more experienced – though below ranking – played an almost exemplary party. Winning in three sets in less than two hours, it does not happen often in a match that seemed to have potential for a much even start. However, the Pole started with running 5: 0 and although the further into the forest, the more to say the American had, Majchrzak gave the pace of competition.

What in particular impressed? Consistency in the Pole’s game. Majchrzak won many long exchanges, and he was able to use the court space well, changing the pace, adding a lot of technical play. But most importantly, from the beginning he was the one who ran away and did not have to chase the result. The second and third set were already much tighter. A tennis player from Piotrków Trybunalski, even games lasting around 10 minutes (example at 5: 3 in the third set on his website) was able to withstand, out of balance or the need to defend Break Pointts. Well, the hands just made up for applause when playing a Pole.

Interestingly, in the third round of Poland, a tennis player will go to the next unsettled opponent in the hierarchy of the tournament. The opponent of Majchrzak (109. ATP) In the game for the best sixteen Wimbledon will be the Chilean Cristian Garin (110. ATP) or Frenchman Arhur Rinderknech (72. ATP), the conqueror of the mentioned Zwieriew. Both men play their match on Wednesday, tonight.
