Jacek Magiera’s son with a dedication after the goal. “Dear Daddy, you will always be in my heart”

Jacek Magiera

Moving scenes from Wrocław. The son of the late Jacek Magiera, Jan, scored a goal in Sunday’s match. After the hit, he made a beautiful gesture for his father.

Jacek Magiera died suddenly on Friday (i.e. April 10) in Wrocław, shortly after he collapsed during morning training. The departure of this coach, former football player, recently the second coach of the Polish national team – and above all – a great man, plunged the football community into mourning.

In the last dozen or so hours, there is actually no more important topic in the context of Polish football. The character of Magiera is – quite rightly – mentioned in every possible place. This is a huge loss and a void that cannot be filled.

Jacek Magiera’s son scored a goal in the Śląsk Wrocław match. Beautiful dedication

The player of Śląsk Wrocław’s youth groups is coach Magiera’s son – Jan. In Sunday’s (April 12) match, with the captain’s armband on his arm, he scored a beautiful goal directly from a free kick. This hit and the son’s touching dedication to his father were posted on social media by Piotr Kotarski.

“Dear Daddy, you will always be in my heart” – the goal scorer had written on a special T-shirt under his match jersey.

There is no doubt that it is a great strength on the part of a young footballer to take the field after such a blow.

During the weekend, we informed about what was happening in the stands, including: stadiums in Warsaw. In addition to a minute of silence before each weekend match at the national level, managed by the Polish Football Association, the scenes involving Legia Warszawa and Śląsk Wrocław will certainly remain in memory. These are the two clubs where Magier achieved the greatest success as a coach.

The Wrocław team played an away match in Warsaw at the Polonia stadium, where they won 4-0. However, Legia, where Magiera spent over two decades as a player and coach, played at home against Górnik Zabrze on Saturday (April 11) (1:1). The setting prepared by the fans of the capital club was absolutely unique.

Jacek Magiera died at the age of only 49.
