It is better to stay away from these countries. They have been deemed the most dangerous to visit in 2025.

What should travelers expect in 2025? First of all, many new regulations. In some countries popular among Poles, mandatory fees will be introduced. However, some issues remain unchanged. The list of countries considered dangerous has remained almost the same. According to International SOS, no country has seen a decline in security risk over the past 12 months. Travelers should therefore continue to avoid places such as Sudan, South Sudan, the Central African Republic and Somalia. The list also includes countries from Europe and the Middle East.

Dangerous countries 2025

A new International SOS study on health, climate change and security threats has yielded results that may be of interest to curious tourists. The latest travel risk assessment list includes countries whose visits we should absolutely cancel this year. Four African countries once again appear at the top of the ranking. Visiting Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan and the Central African Republic is considered extremely dangerous.

Countries from the Middle East, South Asia and Europe also ranked high – Yemen, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and Ukraine. The warning was also issued for countries with slightly less than extreme but still problematically low levels of security. These countries are Mali, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Pakistan, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, Venezuela, Haiti and Honduras.

Even holiday giants are on the list

Although it may seem surprising, popular holiday countries are also marked in orange. We should be careful about our safety, among others: in Turkey, the Dominican Republic or Zanzibar. Lebanon, Israel and Palestine were also on the list. Myanmar (Burma), bordering Thailand, was considered particularly dangerous (red). Poland was rated as safe as, among others, Czech Republic, Germany, Spain and Austria, but less safe than Slovenia, Norway, Finland or Switzerland. However, it is worth remembering that the list is indicative only. Before deciding to travel to a potentially dangerous region, it is worth checking the latest information on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.
