The new attraction will attract tourists even before the holidays begin. If you want to admire the views without crowds, it’s worth doing it now. This is what awaits in Naples.

The Italian city located in the south of the country, right on the Bay of Naples, attracts with its amazing views and delicious cuisine. From March 30, a new experience awaits visitors to Naples. If you are going to this city, remember not only Piazza del Plebiscito, Via Toledo or Vesuvius, but also the path on the roof of the cathedral. You will be among the first to enter there.

New attraction in Naples

Observation towers and mountains allow you to admire majestic views from a completely different perspective. In Naples they are special – the volcano, the bay and numerous islands are impressive. From now on, you will be able to admire the city’s panorama from the new walking route created on the roof of the San Gennaro Cathedral.

The city’s mayor, Gaetano Manfredi, assured that guests would be delighted with the route. “It is a suggestive, unique walk that offers a completely new look at the city,” he commented. From the top you will be able to see beautiful roofs and historic bell towers of churches – over 500 domes. Everything blends together in a surprising way and sparkles with colors. All this at an altitude of 40 meters above sea level.

Entrance to the roof is possible every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the entrance ticket costs 10 euros, i.e. approx. PLN 40. There are limits, as only 15 people can enter at a time. Particularly large crowds are expected during Easter and holiday periods.

Here you will find a new viewpoint

A new attraction awaits residents and tourists in the center of the historic city at via Duomo. The easiest way to get there is on foot from Piazza Cavour metro stop (line L2) or Duomo station (line L1), walking up via Duomo. It is worth remembering not only the terrace, but also the building itself, which is a Gothic pearl dating back to the 13th century. When visiting the interior of the cathedral, you should pay attention to, among others: on a bronze door from the 16th century decorated with the emblems of the Carafa family and the kneeling Oliver Carafa in front of the altar in the central nave.

You can get to the top of the cathedral by taking the historic stairs or the elevator. Next year, the new walking route on the roof will be extended, which will allow you to enjoy an even better experience. So far, restoration work to complete the rooftop route has taken 11 years.
