Henneberg Castle is the only castle in Hamburg described by some as the smallest in the world. It is certain that you will not find a smaller one in Germany or Poland. Other famous small sites are: Hermit’s Castle in Scotland and Molly’s Lodge in England. Now, however, the German property has become particularly loud because it has been put up for sale.

Henneberg, also known as Alsterschlösschen, is located in the Poppenbüttel district, right on the Alster River. The surrounding area is picturesque, especially Henneberg Park. The facility, although it may look medieval, has actually existed since the 19th century. Nevertheless, it is popular and delights guests. Now it is available to people looking for a new place – a tiny manor house with a knights’ hall, a tower and its own chapel is for sale.
According to web.de, which refers to the sale announcement, the castle is located on a plot of approximately 3,137 square meters with direct access to Lake Alster and its own pier. Importantly, it is easy to get to from the Poppenbüttel S-Bahn station – just a short walk. The starting price for the whole is EUR 1.11 million.

With the lock, customers receive a lot, but they also have to meet certain conditions. Before purchasing, you should take into account that the facility has been a monument since 1991, and since 2014 it has been used to organize special events, including: wedding ceremonies or concerts.
Future users must maintain the functionality of the place and its cultural character. It is also important to respect that general residential development is not permitted on the site.
If you don’t have the opportunity to buy Henneberg Castle, you can treat it as a tourist attraction. There you can drink coffee and take a walk in the beautiful gardens. It is not always possible to get inside. Mostly only when official cultural events take place.
