Choosing the right Greek island for holidays is a real challenge. When looking for a place to spend your vacation, it is worth considering your internal desires and preferences, and not just the popularity of a given direction on Instagram – because it may turn out that we will get stuck in a resort, which completely does not harmonize with our harmony and needs. Santorini and Mykonos will definitely not be perfect for those who are looking for low prices and lack of crowds. There are two more items on the islands list that we should avoid.

Santorini and Mykonos have a bad reputation

The Ferry Hopper travel agency, through which you can book tickets for ferries in Greece, published a list of islands, which tourists should rather avoid under certain conditions. The most famous two tourist directions could not be missing: Santorini and Mykonos. These islands are assessed by many travelers as too “overwhelming”. The reason is primarily high prices, crowds of tourists on the beaches and at viewpoints, loud all -night events (in the case of Mykonos), as well as too much popularity and associated high expectations, which can ultimately leave foreign guests with disappointment and unsatisfied.

IOS and Rhodes are not a paradise for everyone

Tourists who prefer peace and quiet from full taverns and discos will not find it on iOS. This inconspicuous small island located in the Cyclad archipelago is the center of night entertainment among young people for whom it is much cheaper here than on Instagram Mykonos. “There are about 25 different night clubs within a five -minute radius,” we read. A bit too commercial and crowded can also be popular Rhodes – it is a large island with monuments and many known beaches, which sightseeing can be too burdensome for many, especially in summer, when the crowds are the greatest and the temperatures are very high.
