It is better to avoid these airlines. The EU added them to the black list
Not all airlines can fly to the European Union. The list of forbidden carriers has been extended to another items.
The European Union has added more dangerous carriers to the “black list”, which currently has as many as 169 items. From now on, Surinam and Tanzania airlines can no longer use an airspace any of the EU members. According to Brussels, carriers from these countries do not meet key safety standards for operations in this region of the world. The document, which was created exactly 19 years ago, is updated twice a year.
Surinam and Tanzania excluded from Europe
No carrier from Surinam and Tanzania will fly to the European Union. Airlines from these countries have been banned from using the airspace of countries belonging to the EU. In the case of Surinam, it is as many as thirty -six carriers, including Surinam Airways, which has so far operated on the route from the capital of Paramaribo to Amsterdam. It turns out that despite the restriction, the connection will be preserved. All thanks to the leasing agreement, allowing the Surinam lines to use the Fleet of German Airlines Universal Sky Carrier. Due to the new regulations, Surinam Airways will suspend flights to Kajena in French Guyana, which is located on the overseas territory of France.
The updated rules also apply to nine airlines from Tanzania, including Air Tanzania national carrier, which had not previously carried out any flights to Europe.
The European Union cares about security
The “Black List” of Airlines with a ban on arrival to the EU has been around since 2006. It can be found by any carrier who uses poorly maintained, damaged or outdated machines, or in a different way, it takes care of the safety issues of its passengers. For 19 years, the document was enriched by 169 members, registered, among others in Nepal, Djibuti, Kyrgyzstan, Libya and the Democratic Republic of Congo. “The list is usually updated twice a year, and the European Commission regularly adds to the list of air carriers covered by the ban or limiting the transport in the European Union, subsequent airlines outside the zone,” writes the aviation market.
