Is Inpost a threat to low-cost airlines? Poles have a new way of checking in luggage
The service everyone has been waiting for is now available in the Inpost application. Poles associate their holiday plans with it.
Buy a plane ticket and not worry about your luggage? Thanks to the new Inpost service, this is possible. We are talking about a real revolution, because in the face of the low prices of international shipments that have just been introduced, buying an additional suitcase on low-cost airlines may turn out to be simply unprofitable and not very convenient. Poles do not hide that they intend to use the offer of the Polish giant when planning European city breaks, and some admit that they have been using this method of shipping clothes or souvenirs for years. For now, Inport allows you to send parcels from Poland to seven European countries directly from the application level, and more will soon be added.
International shipments now available at Inpost
“Today is my birthday, and the best gift I can dream of is the announcement of the launch of international shipments with InPost!” – Rafał Brzoska wrote on social media on Wednesday morning. It didn’t take long for the X community to react. The new product from the Polish operator met with great interest among Internet users, especially tourists, who found the courier company’s offer an ideal solution for their travels.
From now on, instead of worrying about the prices and size of luggage at airlines, we can drop it off at any parcel locker in Poland, and within a few days our suitcase will be in one of seven selected countries: France, Spain (excluding the Canary Islands for now). , Belgium, Portugal, Luxembourg, the Netherlands or Italy.
The extremely low prices are also surprising – for the smallest package weighing up to 25 kilograms we will pay PLN 28.99, and for a slightly larger one, the size of an additional suitcase on board the plane – only PLN 49.99. “This is not the end – we will soon expand the service to the UK!” – adds Brzoska.
Poles will benefit
Sending luggage via Inpost will solve, among others: problems with the limit of products that we can bring on board the plane. Liquids exceeding 100 ml per package cannot usually be carried in hand luggage, which until now obliged travelers to purchase accessories on site or pour the contents into smaller containers. Internet users also note the ease of planning moves abroad or bicycle trips. Thanks to the new Inpost service, we can easily send to our destination, for example, a tent, the sharp parts of which have often been a real nightmare for travelers during inspections at the conveyor belt. “I’m considering sending luggage while taking a city break in Spain or France,” writes one user. Others admit that they have been using similar (though so far slightly more expensive methods offered by competitors) for several years.
All that remains is to wait until the list of available countries for international shipments in the Inpost application develops. Apart from the British Isles, Poles also count on the quick presence of Germany. For now, they can also use parcel lockers at several Polish airports. Thanks to them, we can send back what won’t fit on the plane back home to Poland.
