Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk przed posiedzeniu rządu

The laws are in the Sejm and it depends on the Sejm how quickly they will be proceeded – said Agnieszka Dziemianowicz -Bąk in Polsat News when asked about the introduction of internships. The ministry supports bills in this matter.

Minister of Family, Labor and Social Policy Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk was on Wednesday a guest of the “Graffiti” program at Polsat News. One of the threads of the conversation was the question of introducing internships. There are two bills in this matter in the Sejm. The first was made by the left MPs, the second is a civic initiative supported by NSZZ “Solidarność”.

Both projects assume the possibility of retiring after demonstrating an insurance internship – 35 years for women and 40 years for men. At the same time, one of the conditions would be to collect contributions in ZUS to pay at least a minimum pension (currently it amounts to PLN 1878.91 gross). Both projects underwent their first reading at the beginning of 2024 and went to the Sejm Social Policy and Family Committee.

Dziemianowicz-Bąk about internships

The laws are in the Sejm and it depends on the Sejm how quickly they will be proceeded. One of these acts, this is the Left Act. We are open to discussion, it is an important postulate for us. If not the government path – and the projects are not government The head of the labor department said in “Graffiti”.

It would be good if we adopted the government’s position for these projects, because it makes no sense to multiply existence beyond needs. Since there are two laws, committees can bend over them and work together. The ministry’s position towards both of these projects is positive She added.

The estimated cost of introducing internship pensions is an additional PLN 13 billion a year from the Social Insurance Fund and approx. PLN 1.5 billion per year on the side of the Fund of Agricultural Social Insurance Fund.

The calculations presented by “Fakt” show that a person who decided to end professional activity at the age of 53 and accumulated capital at ZUS at the level of PLN 800,000, could count on a pension of PLN 2380 gross.
