In this Polish spa, the streets have no names. Tourists can come up with them themselves
The new idea of officials arouses curiosity about tourists. They can come up with street names in a well -known Polish spa.
Tourists coming on vacation to Wysowa-Zdrój may be really surprised. The Lesser Poland village, despite its popularity among patients, did not get the names of the street, which may hinder the visitors to move around the resort. However, this is to change soon. Officials of the Uście Gorlickie commune asked about the opinion of those interested. Uzdrowiska guests and residents can send their ideas for names by the end of February – the more interesting and original, the better.
Uzdrowisko without streets
The Wysowa-Zdrój spas known for healing mineral waters live nearly a thousand people. In the sanatorium season, however, there are definitely more people here. A small village in the Low Beskids is more and more boldly gaining the hearts of patients who have not heard of it so far. When they arrive, however, they do not hide surprise. It turns out that compared to other spas, in Wysowa-Zdrój we will not find streets that have names. Its area, however, is slightly smaller than the nearby spa in Muszyna, which has its own street markings. However, this is to change soon, although the new streets in Wysowa will only be conventional, not official.
A storm on the web
It all began with a group of residents of Wysowa-Zdrój, which presented to the Uście Gorlickie commune a proposal to introduce local street names in their spa. Officials agreed to the initiative, posting the suggested names on their website, and Internet users asked about their opinion on them under Facebook post. A real storm has started on the internet, because what one likes one does not necessarily satisfy the other. Some Internet users believe that street names should be uniform for each estate. Others prefer complete freedom. Most, however, agree on the lack of functionality of the commune’s project. “The fact that they do not change administrative addresses and stay with old addresses, in my opinion, undermines any sense of entering names. I do not understand how it can help in navigation, since most of the inhabitants will not try to remember them anyway, because for what? ” – believes one of the residents.
Residents and tourists can report their comments on the commune’s profile until February 28. After this time, the names are to be finally selected and placed on the plates throughout the spa.
