In this country, tourists cannot use a known application. “It’s tiring”
This tourist -friendly country has one serious problem. The application that everyone uses does not want to work here.
Google maps are almost a compulsory application for tourists traveling abroad. However, it turns out that not everywhere using them will be as easy and pleasant as in Europe. South Korea, one of the most friendly countries for foreign guests, has still not reached an agreement with an American enterprise regarding full access to government maps. “It’s tiring, because you have to download three applications and then juggle them to find the way to the place you want to reach,” complains one of the tourists.
Problem with Google maps in South Korea
South Korea, considered a paradise for tourists interested in technology, is still not fully available on Google maps. Tourists who come to Seoul or Czejż will be able to cope with orientation in the field much better, downloading local versions of a popular application, such as cocoa maps and Nave Map. However, the English interface of these applications can be misleading and difficult to use. “Addresses often do not explain well, which means that finding the right location requires the use of a second or third application,” writes CNN.
This is an interesting case, because compared to China, Kuba or Russia, where the use of Google maps is also difficult, South Korea has no tense relations with the United States. Despite this, the American company has been asking the government in Seoul to export data for almost twenty years. The country’s authorities consistently refuse, citing the considerations of national security.
Huge interest in trips to Korea
Incomplete access to Google maps is not an obstacle to tourists who are increasingly willing to visit South Korea. We will also get to Seoul directly from Poland. LOT Polish Airlines due to high interest in travel to this country launched direct cruises to the capital of Korea from as many as two Polish cities – Warsaw and Wrocław.
